फेसबुक ने एक उपयोगकर्ता का खाता ब्लॉक कर दिया था और उपयोगकर्ता को कोई ठोस कारण नहीं बताया गया। इसके बाद अदालत ने कंपनी को 41 लाख रुपये का मुआवजा देने का आदेश दिया। यह मामला लगभग 1 साल तक चला और फिर फेसबुक के खिलाफ मामला चलाया गया।

यह मामला अमेरिका में हुआ है। वहां फेसबुक को एक वकील का खाता ब्लॉक करने का आरोप लगा था। जब फेसबुक ने संतोषजनक जवाब नहीं दिया तो अगस्त 2022 में मामला अदालत में पहुंचा। इस मामले के कुछ वर्षों की मुकदमेबाजी के बाद उपयोगकर्ताओं को अदालत में विजय मिली। फैसले के बाद अदालत ने फेसबुक से उपयोगकर्ताओं को 41 लाख रुपये का मुआवजा देने के आदेश दिए।
फॉक्स 5 एटलांटा की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, जेसन क्रॉफोर्ड ने बिना किसी कारण फेसबुक खाता लॉक करने के खिलाफ केस दायर किया था। रिपोर्ट में आगे बताया गया है कि फेसबुक ने उपयोगकर्ताओं को उनके खाते को पुनः सक्रिय करने में मदद नहीं की है, जिसके बाद उपयोगकर्ताओं को अदालत तक जाना पड़ा।
रिपोर्ट में बताया गया है कि इस तरह की समस्या के सामने आने के बाद फेसबुक से एक वास्तविक कार्यकारी से संपर्क करना मुश्किल होता है। इसके परिणामस्वरूप, उपयोगकर्ताओं को केवल समस्या का सामना करना पड़ता है। बताते चलें कि फेसबुक की पेरेंटल कंपनी की नाम मेटा आईएनसी है.

After several years of litigation, the users emerged victorious in the case. Following the court's ruling, they were awarded compensation of $50,000 (approximately 4.1 million rupees).
According to a report by Fox 5 Atlanta, Jason Crawford filed a lawsuit against Facebook for locking his account without any reason. The report further stated that Facebook did not assist the users in reactivating their accounts, leading them to approach the court.
Difficulties in Contacting Facebook
The report mentioned that after getting trapped in such a predicament, contacting a real executive at Facebook becomes extremely difficult. Consequently, users are left to deal with only their grievances.
Users Faced Troubles
The report highlighted that when faced with such issues related to a Facebook account, most complaints can only be registered through the Facebook profile. However, after an account gets locked, users no longer have access to that option. It is worth mentioning that Meta is the parent company of Facebook.
